ECG I Course
The ECG I course was developed for PGY-1 learners and reviews fundamental skills in ECG interpretation and can’t miss ECG diagnoses. The course is divided into 6 units which include unit summaries (fundamental concept review), 4 challenge ECGs and interpretation guides. Using a flipped classroom approach, unit summaries and challenge ECGs should be reviewed independently in advance of classroom meetings. During classroom time, learners will engage in small group collaboration followed by a large group discussion to clarify interpretation and best practices for each case. After each meeting your instructor should send you Challenge ECG Answer sheets– these will include answers but also embedded links to high-yield FOAMed EKG resources for more in-depth study on specific learning topics.
If your program makes use of the ECG I course, your local Foundations Course Director will provide you with a detailed schedule for your institution (dates with specific units for your site). If your program does not adopt ECG I but you’d like to follow along on your own, contact the ECG Course Director to be added to an email list for challenge ECG interpretation guides.
